Side Effects of Laser Tattoo Removal Procedures Print E-mail
Thursday, 22 March 2007
Laser tattoo removal procedures are what are most commonly used for of tattoo removal, but this does not mean that that are entirely without side effects.  However, by comparison, they have far fewer side effects than other procedures.  Tattoo removal patients who have their procedures performed by laser also stand a lesser chance of developing complications and side effects, because the procedure is so much less invasive than the other optional tattoo removal procedures that are performed under certain circumstances.

One of the most serious, but rare, side effects of the laser tattoo removal process is that the stain of the tattoo will remain and reform.  In this affected area, then, there will be a wealth of color where it should not be.  There is a low chance of permanent scaring on the area of skin that was treated with the laser tattoo removal process.  Some patients have even experienced a loss of color in the skin where the laser tattoo removal process was performed.

Infection is one of the most easily prevented side effects that can come as a result of the laser tattoo removal procedure.  This can be avoided to a greater extent by keeping the area clean by using anti-bacterial soaps on the site.  Sometimes doctors can even prescribe topical treatments to lessen the chance of infection.  The experiences when it comes to side effects are few in number, but it is still important to consider them if a person is looking into laser tattoo removal procedures.
