Using Moving Companies Print E-mail
Saturday, 21 October 2006
If you’re considering using moving companies for upcoming moves, there are a few things that may help make your experience smooth and pleasant.  Moving companies vary in the services they provide, so be sure to ask questions and choose the moving company that best meets your individual needs. Some moving companies are full service, and include packing and materials in their quotes. Other moving companies just load and transport your boxes and furniture.

When considering using a moving company, be certain that you get estimates from several moving companies. The cheapest may not be the best, so do not hesitate to ask friends and coworkers for recommendations. You should determine your needs, and choose the company that best meets your needs at a fair and reasonable price. Moving company quotes can be given in one of three forms: binding, non-binding, and not to exceed. It is helpful to be aware of the type of quotes each moving company is offering.

Fortunately, you will find that most moving companies are both professional and reputable, but problems do occur. You should find out, during the selection process, the individual company’s policies regarding loss or damage, as well as their employee selection criteria.  Reputable moving companies should carry insurance against loss, damage and theft, and may bond their employees.

Moving companies can make your move less stressful, assuming you choose among the moving companies in your area well. Find a moving company that offers the services you need, with a good reputation and appropriate customer protections. You will likely find that your experience using a moving company is a good one.
